Some of the following are some possiblities that you and your advisors can discuss as you determine the right fit for your gift to the DREAM Institute.
Charitable Remainder Trust allows the donor to transfer property to a trust that pays the donor or another beneficiary a fixed or variable income for a fixed amount of time. When the trust expires, the remainder is used to establish a permanent fund in the donor's name with distributions directed as he or she has chosen.
Gift of an IRA allows the donor to designate the DREAM Institute as the beneficiary of an IRA is an excellent way for a donor to make a gift to charity using an asset that otherwise might be heavily taxed.
Life Insurance allows the donor to name the DREAM Institute as the owner of the beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy. The donor receives a current income tax charitable deduction.
Residual Bequests allow you to designate the remaining residual of your estate as a gift to the DREAM Institute, after the payment of all expenses and specific bequests to other beneficiaries have been made.
Specific Bequests allows you to designate a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your total estate, or specified property or other assets as a gift to the DREAM Institute.
Contingent Bequests allow you to make a testamentary gift to the DREAM Institute only under certain circumstances. This is an excellent way to ensure that your assets pass to the causes important to you in the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as the prior death of one or more named beneficiaries.
For example, you can name the DREAM Institute as a beneficiary only if no other close family members survive you. Childless couples sometimes provide for the entire estate to go to the surviving spouse, or if the spouse does not survive them, it goes to the DREAM Institute.
