Announcing the 2007 Dream Institute Scholars
The DREAM (Disability, Resources, Educational Advocacy, Motivation) Institute announces the 2007 scholarship winners. A selection committee of professionals in communities across Oklahoma was selected to review the applications and select this year’s scholar winner.
The 2007 scholars are:
Scott Edwards of Jenks, Oklahoma graduated from Jenks High School and will attend Tulsa Community College and wants to transfer to OSU Tulsa and pursue a degree in aviation.
Megan Malone of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma graduated from Putnam City North High School and will attend Oklahoma State University where she plans to major in Veterinary Medicine.
Jonathan Hester of Sulpulpa, Oklahoma graduated from Jenks High School and will attend Northestern State University where he plans to major in Biology.
The DREAM Institute scholars receive a comprehensive scholarship package to attend a state University and are renewed annually based on performance. The scholarship includes academic assistance, academic and professional mentorship.
There are now a total of 15 scholars in the DREAM Institute unique program. The 12 other scholars are:
*Andy Dearborn of Norman, OK who attends University of Oklahoma and is majoring in Political Science
*Shelley Hall of Norman, OK who attends Northeastern Oklahoma and is majoring in special education in high school students.
*Brandy Donelson of Broken Arrow, OK who attends Oklahoma State University and is majoring in graphic design. Brandy will graduate in December of 2007. Brandy will be the first scholar to graduate from the program.
*Timon Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK who attends Tulsa Community College and is majoring in Computer Sciences.
*Alvin Barnett of Tulsa, OK who attends Colorado University and is majoring in Business Administration. Alvin plays Big XII football and will graduate in May 2008.
*Thomas Hoopes of Muskogee, OK who attends The University of Oklahoma and is majoring in microbiology
*Emily Reavis of Tulsa, OK who attends The University of Central Oklahoma and is majoring in early childhood education.
*Kelsey Graham of Broken Arrow who attends Oklahoma State University and is majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
*Antonia Baskerville of Tulsa, OK who attends Tulsa Community College and is Majoring in elementary education
* Ryan Berrigan of Deer Creek, Oklahoma attends University of Central Oklahoma where he is majoring in Physical education.
* Brett Cunningham from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma attends Oklahoma City Community College. Brett will transfer to The University of Oklahoma in the fall of 2008 and major in special education.
* Molly Winkler of Norman, Oklahoma attends The University of Oklahoma where she majors in engineering.

The Scholars will be honored at the Power to DREAM Award dinner on November 12, 2007.

The 2006 HEAP Scholar Award Winners are:
Ryan Berrigan: from Edmond, Oklahoma graduated from Deer Creek High School and attends the University of Central Oklahoma where he will major in physical education.
Brett Cunningham: from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma graduated from Southeast High School attends Oklahoma City Community College where he will major in Radiology.
Molly Winkler: from Norman, Oklahoma graduated from Norman High School and attends the University of Oklahoma where she will major in Architecture.

Announcing the 2005 DREAM Institute Scholars
The DREAM (Disability, Resources, Educational Advocacy, Motivation) Institute announces the 2005 Scholarship Award Winners. The DREAM Institute received over 150 applications this year. A selection committee made up of a variety of professionals in communities across Oklahoma was selected to review the applications and select this years scholar winners.
The 2005 HEAP Scholar Award Winners are:
Emily Reavis, from Tulsa, Oklahoma and a recent graduate from Bishop Kelley High School who will be attending the University of Central Oklahoma and will be majoring in Elementary Education.
Kelsey Graham, from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and a recent graduate from Town and Country School who will attend Oklahoma State University with a major in fashion design.
Thomas Hoopes, from Muskogee, Oklahoma and a recent graduate of Bishop Kelley High School graduate who will attend the University of Oklahoma with a major in Microbiology.
Antonia Baskerville, from Tulsa, Oklahoma and a recent graduate of Edison High School who will attend Langston University with a major in Elementary Education.
The 2004 scholars were renewed for next year are: Andrew Dearborn, Alvin Barnett, Shelley Hall, Brandy Donelson and Timon Johnson. This marks nine total scholars currently going through the DREAM Institute program. In addition in 2004, one-time scholarships were given to Adam Larson and Robert Stevens which makes a grand total of 11 students with disabilities directly impacted by the Institute since 2004.
The major contributors of the scholarships for The DREAM Institute are: Henry Zarrow, The Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, The Maxine and Jack Zarrow Family Foundation, The Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, AEP/PSO, Samson, Senator Bob Dole, The Vincent Mulford Foundation, The Gelvin Foundation, Tulsa Community Foundation, David and Rita Adams and sponsor proceeds of the 2004 Awards banquet.
The scholarship winners will be honored at the Power to DREAM Achiever’ Awards Banquet set for November 14, 2005.
The 2004 DREAM Institute Scholars
Alvin Barnett graduated from East Central High School in 2004 and played football and basketball. In Fall 2004, he attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Junior College. In January 2005, he was recruited to attend Colorado State to play football.
Timon Johnson graduated from Union High School in Tulsa, OK in 2004. He is attending Roger’s State University with a major in business. Timon was a starter on the Union Varsity Baseball team. Timon plays baseball for Roger’s State University.
Shelley Hall graduated from Norman High School and is attending Northeastern State University. She is pursuing a degree in special education.
Brandy Donelson graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 2002 and is attending Oklahoma State University and her major is graphic design.
The 2004 Senator Bob Dole Honorary Scholar
Andrew Dearborn is a 2004 graduate from Norman High School. Andrew is attending Oklahoma City Community College for the next year and a half and than will transfer to the University of Oklahoma majoring in Political Science.
